Birak backyard make and play sessions
Beat the summer heat with our Backyard Make and Play sessions
Sessions are programmed to offer open play and making experiences themed to pique your curiosity, with optional combined back-to-back morning sessions so you can go deep in your playing or making.
Location: MAKA Studio, West Leederville
Theme - Water play days = Water as a “tool”
Water is a versatile “tool” especially in the world of art. Explore its properties as a liquid or a solid and dive into a watery journey of discovery to see what you can create using water.
Thursday 8 January, 9am to 12pm
Friday 9 January, 9am to 12pm
$70 per session OR $130 for combined sessions.
Theme - Art of building = Building art
Use a range of repurposed materials (cardboard, pallets, material and more) and build your tool skills with drills, hammers, saws, spanners and more. Build, have a go, play, explore, create a project or simply enjoy the learning process.
Wednesday 21 January, 9am to 12pm
Thursday 22 January, 9am to 12pm
$70 per session OR $130 for combined sessions.
Theme - Graffiti art = Make your own paint and inks
Graffiti (graffiato, meaning “scratched”) art is a global public art form that breaks down barriers and creates powerful messages using materials and items available at hand. Create impermanent paint and artworks to share your message through this artful medium.
Thursday 29 January, 9am to 12pm
Friday 30 January, 9am to 12pm
$70 per session OR $130 for combined sessions.
Book in for ALL 6 sessions for $400.
Sessions suits ages 5 years to 14 years.
